A medical snake like robot for single port surgery

The Flex® Robotic System is based on a core flexible, steerable scope technology that surgeons can use to navigate around anatomy with an integrated high-definition vision system. Once positioned, the scope can become rigid to provide a stable platform through which flexible instruments can be deployed to perform procedures in a way that is not possible with line-of-sight approaches.


Medrobotics received FDA clearance for the Flex® Robotic System in July 2015. It is now available for sale in the United States. Medrobotics received the CE mark for the Flex® Robotic System in March 2014.  It has been available on a limited basis in Europe since June of that year.
